A. Complete the blanks in the text with one word.
I had an experience last month that completely blew my mind. I went bungee jumping! Steve, a friend of mine, suggested going to the Angeles National Forest in California bungee jump from a bridge over a river. Initially, I jumped at chance, but when we reached the meeting point, my jaw dropped as I watched a man jump off the bridge. of us had ever done it before, so the sight of him dropping down really scared us. When my turn came, I wished I never signed up for this, but I went ahead with it.
The instructors gave me a special suit to wear and attached the elastic cords to it. As I was looking down from a height of 120 feet, my heart was in my mouth. That’s when everybody started the countdown. Three… Two… One!
The moment I jumped off the bridge was the most thrilling in my life. I closed my eyes as I felt gravity pulling me down at an enormous speed and just as I thought I was going to crash onto the surface of the river, the elastic cords pulled me back up again. I went up and down a few times and eventually stopped. I hung there for a few moments, of breath, as the instructors slowly lowered me down to a boat, where another instructor was waiting for me. Steve hadn’t suggested doing this, I would never tried it on my own. When we were going home, I could still feel the adrenaline rush. Even it was an incredible experience, I don’t think that I would do it again!
